In this August edition of our monthly Ask Us Anything Call at Real Geeks, our senior trainers Crystal and Michael, and our senior product manager, Chuck, walk us through some exciting product updates as well as some really effective best practices of our all in one CRM.



How to Engage Real Estate Leads with Video Content

Many agents ask us what the best way to engage leads early on is. And the video capabilities of our platform are definitely a major channel to do this.

This is because Real Geeks allows you to record yourself in real time and send a unique, personalized message to your leads.

Say that a new lead just came through your website. You'd automatically get notified of this via email or text message.

  • First, you'd go to your Lead Manager menu.
  • Click on that lead's name to go to their profile.

On the top bar, you'll see your Communications Central, where you can send this specific lead an email, a text message, etc.

  • If you click on the email button, you'll have a pop up window where you can craft a personalized message. Now, you select from the many templates we have available, or you can write one from scratch.
  • As you can see, there's a button that says "Add Video". This is where you can connect the camera from your device and record a quick, live video.

And, if you don't wish to do it live, you can upload a previously recorded video or select one you've previously used and saved inside your CRM.

Think about how many times this lead has received a first welcome message from a realtor. We bet most, if not all of these didn't include a personal video before.

If you can create a quick, professional video that showcases not only your expertise but your personality and charisma, you can put a face to the name and create a much closer, personal connection with your leads.

From the Real Geeks mobile up, the process of recording a video is just as easy.

By the way, if you don't have the Real Geeks app, download it for iOS or Android.

  • On the app, you can easily search for the lead's name in the Search menu.

  • Inside the leads Profile, you can click on the Action Button on the bottom right, and select the action you want to perform (in this case, sending an email).

  • And again, when you compose the email, you can easily tap the video icon to do a live, personalized recording for your lead, or upload a new or recently used video.

Videos are a phenomenal way to have better conversations with your leads, and something you should add in most if not every step of your workflows.

This is because videos provide context. You can do a quick showing of a property, you can explain some market updates, you can educate leads on price fluctuations, and you can showcase your unique value proposition that much better.

Long-story short: they're easily one of the most effective, low-hanging fruits at agents' disposal. And if you can become great at making videos, you'll stand out from your competitors and get those buyer agreements signed that much faster.

Speaking of Buyer Agreements, let's tackle this new reality in our market.

Buyer Agent Compensation: How to Use Our System to Navigate Changes in the Industry


For most of us, this change post-NAR lawsuit is about to hit our respective markets. For some, the changes are already here. And we've received a lot of questions on how the Real Geeks system can help agents navigate this new arena.

How do I add a notice of the seller willing to pay buyer agent compensation? 

Is Real Geeks going to be able to list this out on our sites?

How do we put our own listings on the website if it's not in the IDX? 

The easiest way to create those buyer compensation and concession pages is to go to the admin page of your website, by simply inputting your website's address and adding "/admin" at the end of the URL.

Then, on the "Content Page" menu item, you'll be able to create a basic compensation page that looks like this:

It's a very simple page showcasing the listings that you're a part of, and the compensation listed next to them. This fulfills all legal obligations and requirements your board might have.

And, when they click on the property, the property page should automatically open up and your leads will be asked to sign up to your page.
